  • I have very long thick straight hair. How to I get it wavy/ curly.
  • Best Answer:I am in the same situation as you, when ever i try to get my hair to have a luscious curl, it either comes out frizzy or half straight half curly. What i learned is to take a shower at night then put in a curling agaent, i use something by bed head or i actually just tried this new one by garnier fructis- its called curl sculpting cream-gel (<-it seriously works so well). I use that when my hair is still moderatly damp then i tie my hair into either two braides tied up in the back (for smaller more disticnt waves) or i tie it into a messy bun and use bobby pins to create a wave effect by taking random pieces of hairand curling them over, you could also just sleep with it wet to create more of a lose style. when you wake up in the morning...you have wavy hair that lasts all day...i hope i could help you!
  • Answer:When your hair is wet, put some moose in it, then braid it into about 3-4 braids that are fairly loose. When your hair is dry, take it out and twist the curls individually with your fingers. I have really thick and unmanageable hair, but this method works great, and it also doesn't damage my hair.

If you really want curls that are more spiral like, I would suggest buying a 1-inch barrel curling iron, and they sell those at nearly every drugstore. Start off with dry hair and mist your hair lightly with hair spray, then, start off in about 2 inch sections of your hair and wrap them around the iron while holding it vertically. Hold for 30-45 seconds, release. When you're all done, seperate the curls even more with your fingers to give more definition, and mist lightly with hairspray again to make sure it holds.

there are also products out there that can make your hair have "beachy waves." Bumble and Bumble has a great product called Surf Spray that gives me waves that look identical to the Olsen twins. It's great, and many salons sell it, as well.

I hope you get the look that you want :)
  • Answer:1cup of water, 2 tablespoons of sea-salt, dab of gel, put it in a spray bottle and shake it 'til everything is dissolved, spray it on damp hair. It brings out the natural waves.

If that doesn't work, use a curling hair mousse, any brand will do, put it on damp hair, flip your head over and scrunch it.
