04/26/2008How To Get Natural Highlights?
  • I have black hair . How can I get natural highlights - and will it damage my hair ?
  • Best Answer:Black hair is extreamly hard to get any color change without dye.

Lemon juice won't really make any kind of diffrence in dark black hair, but it's worth a try.

Being in the sun ALOT will help too.
  • Answer:well any highlights you get won't be NATURAL. I assume that you mean you want it to look natural, in which case you should get really deep brown highlights- but to make it look more natural tell the stylist to use thin strands of hair not always evenly spaced out- tell her you want it to look really natural. I would definitely invest in getting it done versus doing it yourself, because especially with really dark hair, it could turn out bad. It will damage your hair some, as all color services will, but start using a hair masque a few times a week (garnier fructis makes a good one- color shield hair masque) and it will get better quickly. but i wouldn't be too worried about damage if you haven't colored before, your hair is probably strong enough to take quite a bit before showing split ends.
  • Answer:LEMON. Put some lemon in your hair and go out in the sun for a while....it will turn some parts of your hair lighter. if you focus on certain strands it will go on certain strands.

Or even just put the lemon in while you are washing your hair lemon bleches some of your colour in the sun and does NOT ruin your hair. It actually makes it healthier and softer.
  • Answer:Use sun in. It is pretty much natural. All you do is spray it in your hair then sit in the sun so it doesnt ruin your hair.
  • Answer:put lemon juice in ur hair and rub it where u want the highlights then stay in the sun alot
  • Answer:sunscreen works pretty good
