  • My toe nail is swollen and red. It hurts so bad when I add pressure to it. I don't know if I really have an ingrown toe nail...and if I do..how do I remove it?..I tried but nothing comes out...I tried putting the skin down to see if I can see it..but I tried digging but nothing comes out..and IT HURTS! any help here? Thanks!
  • Best Answer:my sister had that. soak it for 30 mins in salt water. i think thats what she had to do. but she had to have it fixed first at the foot docter. go to him. he will help you=[]
  • Answer:A ingrown toenail is very painful and from what you have describe that sounds like that is exactly what is going on. You can etheir dig it out yourself and run the risk of infection witch is what I do but it's very painful at times or you can go to the doctor and have it treated, they have treatments along the lines of cutting a very small portion of the nail out in such a way that you will no longer have that problem again. Either way it's not very fun. I have to do it often. If you do it yourself make sure the area is clean and be very careful and try not to do more damage than ther all ready is to the toe, but your best bet would be a doctor if you want to stop it from happening over and over. Good luck
  • Answer:Well i know how you feel as i had the same problem a couple of years ago. First of all there are two ways to get rid of it,
    1. You have it cut out by the Podiartrist
    2. Or you can have it surgically removed at the Hospital
If you get it done at the Podiartrist it is cheaper although it hurts more because you are not put to sleep you just get a big needle that puts your toe to sleep, Then you have to have a bandage on your foot for a week.
Or if you get it done at the hospital it cost a little more but hurts less as you are put to sleep and then they cut it out and give you stitches, it takes alot longer to heal as well.
As i had it done in both toes so i know from expierence you might want to cosider getting it done at the Pidiartrist as it is a bit cheaper and is quicker to heal.

    HOPE I HELPED :D:D
  • Answer:I had the same problem myself, and if you try any of that "found it online" crazy and painful "do-it-yourself" cr**, your only going to increase your chances of getting an infection (infection=MORE PAIN).
not only that but you had mentioned that you do not know if it is an ingrown toenail or not. If it is really something else like an infection underneath the skin or a fungal infection, your going to feel stupid for all the pain and mutilation you put yourself through.
The correct thing to do is to seek out a podiatrist, I finally decided to after a year of the same problem and now I wonder why I didn't do that first instead of listening to the ideas of weird people without a medical degree.
  • Answer:If you have an ingrown toenail, there are products you can buy for it, but in the end you will probaly have to go to the doctor and have them take care of it for good. Even if you get it out for now, they usually just keep coming back in the same way. They usually come from cutting your nails too short, or wearing shoes that are too small for you.
  • Answer:Do not try to remove it yourself, call your doctor & explain your problem & set up an appointment. I've had an ingrown toenail back in the day & I know the pain, it's much easier & safer to let the doctor take care of it.
  • Answer:Yeah.. i had that..
im goign to tell you.. GO TO THE DOCTOR.. i had mine for 3 months.. b/c i REFUSED to go to the doctor.. so go to it.. or it will get masivly infeted. and it wil hurt to walk..
  • Answer:Go see a Podiatrist if you cant get it out yourself then go see someone who specializes in that kind of stuff. It will cost you some money but it is better to pay than to stay in pain.
  • Answer:what i do is

its rough but its the only way i think i can explain it be careful if you try it.
  • Answer:Go see your doctor. It may have to be surgically removed. If it is removed, it'll take a few months but it'll grow back healthy.
