04/26/2008Can I use a power plug rated with an output of 5.2 volts 500mA to charge a PDA that is supposed to use...?
- a plug rated with an output of 5.0 volts 1000mA without damaging the Palm treo?
- Best Answer:1) verify that the plug fits. With the power supply **disconnected** from the wall outlet, see if the plug on the power supply fits into the Treo.
2) Check the polarity. Not all power supplies are wired the same way, and using one with the polarity reversed from what the Palm is expecting **could** damage it.
3) If the plug fits and the polarity is OK, it is unlikely to damage the Treo, but since the supply is underpowered, you might damage the power supply.
