- Best Answer:Ther are far greater things to fear than death.....death is a long way from being the worse thing that could happen to you. To be cut down in your prime with a stroke or cancer or disease that leaves you with pain everyday, all day and all year I would find much more devastating
To never be able to live a life that you had yesterday....to be suddenly crippled in your teens or thirties or fifties or whenever and to know that you are going to live into your seventies or eighties or longer as a "functioning vegetable" of sorts and perhaps even become a "burden" to your loved one or friends to me would be far worse than to just be dead
