04/27/2008Can I go over my credit limit on my Chase MasterCard?
  • I don't care if I have to pay an over fee.. It's a $300 credit limit, and it's at $307 now.. I don't get paid for a week, and I don't want to get embarrassed if I go to buy something and it doesn't let me.. So will it?
  • Best Answer:Here are some options:

    1) Apply for another card - goto creditcard.com or mastercard.com (find a card). Look for one with an 0% intro offer of 6-12 months

    2) If you want - apply for a secured card from Bank of America or Citibank - your credit line is equal to your security deposit - which earns a pretty good rate of interest while it it in a savings account..

This card can help you establish credit by allowing you to demonstrate that you can handle your account well.

    3) Ask your current credit card company for a credit line increase
  • Answer:You will never get a real credit card if you keep messing up like that. $300 is a starters credit card to show the creditors that you are responsible so that they can trust you with more credit . Do not go any farther you should wait and be strong.
  • Answer:What in the name of heaven is *so* important that you have to pay 20-something percent interest PLUS a penalty fee to have it? Are you seriously that lacking in impulse control?

DON'T SHOP UNTIL PAYDAY. There. Problem solved.
  • Answer:It all depends on the credit card company, it may, or it may not. So, you should probably ask the credit card company this question, they will tell you any information that you need to know.
  • Answer:It will let you go over by a little bit if the charge occurs below the limit, but usually once it's over the limit your transactions will start being declined
  • Answer:Typically you won't be able to continue to use the card once you make a new purchase when you are over the limit. I am assuming that your card got over the limit by interest charges or finances charges on late payments.
  • Answer:You can call them and ask them to raise the limit. I would advise againt it. Credit Card Debit will ruin your life! Please don't get deeper into debt. You would be better off eating beans and rice for a while.
  • Answer:probably not. it will let you go over it....but it will charge you $40 for an over limit fee and your interest will be higher on the amount that you went over limit on....
  • Answer:You are starting down a slippery slope. Live within your means and defer your purchases.
  • Answer:"I don't care if I have to pay an over fee"

I wonder why there is a credit problem?
