  • ok so i know its mind over matter but its just so hard i need help from people who have experienced this kind of stuff. um i drink soda every day i try not to. i eat all the time. what do i do i need some answers and some help please. i wanna be healthy!
  • Best Answer:no one can help you in this matter unless it comes from inside.
    how can you want to change, but you say "you love food"... there is a difference between loving food, and abusing junk food. all the people in the world could chime in but it won't help you. because if you look deep down inside, you'd find that the answer your looking for would be "it's ok to eat all the food you like. the most important thing is to exercise and be happy"... sadly, that's just people sugar coating it and looking for an extra 10 pts.
    If you love food so much, why don't you enjoy anything you want to eat ONCE A WEEK?! you can still eat healthy and it will taste good. you just have to learn how to cook. buy some cook books and get some ideas. don't use the recipes, but look at how they cook things to make it taste better and what kind of spices they use and make health conscious choices. are you willing to do that? can you get out of your way to learn how to cook? or do you just want everything ready for you in a microwavable package?

    you have to start devoting time to exercising. i don't mean walking and other useless activities (towards burning calories... walking is great for teh cardio vascular system, but doesn't burn more than 200 cals per hr... that's not even a snickers bar)... i mean jogging... something tiring... something that'll make you breathe heavy and barely catch your breath. something you do for an hour and end up covered in sweat.

    Look, here are some delicious recipes... but you need to devote time cooking them... and you need to devote time exercising:
    chicken breasts with skin in a pyrex trey, pour 1 tbsp of olive oil, and 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar on them, spray some spices on them (anything you like. i usually use mrs.dash tod ecrease sodium), cover the trey with aluminum foil, shove in the over at 300 F for 50 minutes, take it out and peel the skin off, serve on a plate with a little bit of white rice or boiled potatoes, and veggies. drink a diet soda with it. it won't effect anything.
    for breakfast, you can try 2 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, 2 slices fat free cheese, green peppers, tomatoes, onions (make an omelete and cook in a teflon pan), make 1/2 cup of oats cooked in water with 1 tbsp honey, 1 glass of fat free milk.
    for a midday snack, you can put a scoop of whey protein (no carb, no fat), a glass of fat free milk, some bananas or oats, 1 tbsp peanut butter, ice ... all in a blender and you have a delicious smoothy
    get a foreman grill... buy some 95% lean ground beef, mix some diced onions and parsley with the beef patty, add spices, cook on the foreman grill, put it in a whole wheat bun with some veggies (lettuce tomatoes, onions, pickles), low fat mayo, and some ketchup and you have a delicious burger for dinner...hell, drink it with a diet coke

    it's really simple, and easy to stick to... you just have to know what the hell you're doing and do some goddamn research...

    some people might think this answer is rude... but hey, i don't sugar coat crap... i tell it like it is becasue i actually want people to change and to educate themselves about nutrition and exercise.

    you can lose fat if you wanted to... most people just create excuses because it's easy to eat junk and not move. people are lazy... that is why they'd follow every single fad diet and fad workout on the market before they ever try something that is actually hard to do but tried and true (like heavy weight training and strict dieting)...


    P.S. as for diet soda... for the idiot who said it contains sugar... don't mislead people. diet soda has no calories... has no sugar... the only thing that will "harm" you is the phosphoric acid. phosphoric acid will cause food to ferment more in your intestines and will make it harder for your body to "move it out"... so instead of staying there for 3-4 days, it stays there for 10-12 days... nothing a good fiber supplement like metamucil won't fix. but you probably read in a magazine that the reason for obesity in america is diet sodas and microwave dinners, right? :) ... diet soda is fine. drink 1 or 2 a day.... it won't affect you.

  • Answer:I am not much taller than you and I used to weigh about 145. I would say the soda really has to go, have you tried carbonated fruit-flavored water or anything? At least try to switch to sprite if nothing else. Soda is VERY hard on your teeth as well as your digestive system. I lost quite a bit of weight by just eating the same things but in smaller portions. Most importantly: EXERCISE! Go for walks or jog, if you'd rather do something at home try workout videos. My favorites are Pilates Intermediate Mat Workout and The Biggest Loser Workout. Pilates helps tone your muscles and the Biggest Loser Workout is a great cardio workout. If you can motivate yourself for a few weeks you'll really start to see results and it will be easier to keep going. Also, try to find some healthy snacks that you can enjoy, like fresh fruits & veggies. YOU CAN DO IT!!!
  • Answer:Yes, if you're trying to lose weight, and you're drinking Diet soda instead of regular, you're not helping yourself at all. Just quit drinking soda everyday and drink lots of water. You'll be better off.

    Honestly, I hate how people think drinking Diet soda is any better than having regular. It's still sugar.
  • Answer:Work out! Just because you eat a lot doesn't mean you have to stop. I eat junkie foods CONSTANTLY. It's okay sometimes, just cut down. Eat in moderation. You should be able to feel comfertable in your own body. Eat more fruits and veggies. Oh yeah and DO NOT drink Diet Soda. It actually has more calories and will make you gain weight. Also get lots and lots of sleep! A recent study found that sleeping more helps you actually lose weight.

  • Answer:Don't expect overnight miracles. Just a little at a time. First off, cut out the junk foods. If you go out, leave your money at home so you wont buy rubbish. Tell your parents what you are trying to do and get their encouragement. They will help. When you feel like a snack, eat fruit. Exercise regularly, even just a walk to start with. But you MUST be committed, and use all your willpower. Good luck
  • Answer:look stop with the sodas there not good for you and you gotta be motivated to do it if your not you wont do it and junk food is not worth it in the end its a waste and there are plenty healthy foods out there that are just as nice
