04/26/2008Does anyone know why mousepads on laptops freakout?
- Like you want it to go one way but it goes a different way and like freaksout and has a sezure.
- Best Answer:I think there is some problem with the software and not with the mouse pads on the laptops.
See it happens like this the mouse pad has a led built inside which traces the path of your fingers when u move it on the pad.
Now generally in all cases mouse pads on laptops comes with two things.
1. The driver of mouse pad.
2. The software of the mouse pad which controls the directions, sensitivity, thumb hits, pressure.
I may say that the software is not installed /not installed properly
You can check out the recent version of drivers/softwares for the mouse pad from the laptop manufacturers site

- Answer:You do not mention what brand. If it is an older Dell then the chances are you have a motherboard starting to go bad. Often you can get by using an external "regular big" mouse. Dell makes a good product. Every computer has its weak issue. The Dell "C" series has the one you described.
- Answer:Does it have a touch pad or one of those mouse buttons in the middle of the keyboard? Or both? Mine has both. I use the button and disable the touchpad because i was accidentally hitting the touchpad to often. Also mine kind of wanders sometimes, it's an IBM Thinkpad T43.
- Answer:it is possible you need to change the sensitivity.
Sometime, when you type, the palm of your hand gets too close to the mouse area.
