04/26/2008Ok so i have a question concerning my xbox360 and PC?
- So i want to play on Xbox live. And many other members of my family want to play on the internet. Could i get a router and run the xbox network cable through it, as well as the computer network cable, and be online, and play xbox? or can only one be done at a time?
- Best Answer:You can do them both at the same time with a router.
If you want to do it on the cheap then install a second network card in your PC (assuming the one you have is already being used by the router), enable Internet Connection Sharing and connect your XBox to the internet through that. It's a bit more complex to set up and it means you have to keep your main PC on while you're on Live but it only costs you $5-$10 for a cheap network card as opposed to $50 for a router.
[Edit:] Mictamcody's tip of using a switch is good too. There're a little more expensive than a network card (maybe $20 for a cheap one) but easier to set up. I plug all of my consoles into a switch on my local subnet this side of my router.
- Answer:its easy actually. just keep your internet plugged in and connect an ethernet cable from the xbox to the router plugging it into one of thew other slots like you did for your computer probably. and you can get a free version of xbox live but on another server. just go to http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ Its cool just has less users than xbox live.
go freeware! It' not illigal since the servers are owned by xlink kai. not microsoft.
- Answer:Well you could get a router and play wirelessly if you get the adapter, you could also get a router (or a switch) and put 1 ethernet cord into the computer another into the xbox,
- Answer:yes you could but i think the Xbox have a wireless internet card bulit in so see if you do or don't but i think yes
- Answer:As long as the router has enough ports, it's not a problem
- Answer:Yes, you could. You'd have to pay for XBox Live, of course.
- Answer:Yes...and if you have the money go pick up wireless adaper for the xbox 360.
