  • i want to know the price, pros and cons and reliability etc, i aint gonna go get killed street racing on the streets, i am gonna do it professionally and on the track and safely and maturely, so i watched a few fast and furious and red line movies and i am into it, i want to buy a car that can be a superb street racer etc, and guys like dont mention exotic cars like ferrari's or lambo or f1 , why? > because if i had a ferrari i wouldnt street race it / be on yahhoo answers, and how do u guys feel about ppl with those replica ferrari body kits ? i mean doesnt it seem a bit cheesy and do u kinda look at those ppl as if they are trying to pretend to be rich ? i mean ppl make fun of ricers with big bad body kits on honda but no power/ engine mods do u feel the same about those wanna be ferrari's ,,,, and make sure the cars u guys mention for street racing are something common no musscle too much gas , something i will like buying , and keep the price low , max $10,000.....
  • Best Answer:Those movies aren't very accurate to reality. Watch some videos of track driving to get a good idea, go to your local track, drag strip, and maybe autocross events.

    A good cheap car for drag racing, are the last-gen F-bodies, the Chevrolet Camaros and Pontiac Firebirds from 96-on, which have the same LS1 engine as the Corvette, detuned to between 290 and 330 HP depending on the model. They are relatively cheap, and even the V8 gets about 17 city 25 highway. The 06' Corvette got 18/28. Not bad.
