  • Im writing a report 4 school and i need to know what the typical day is 4 a tractor equpiment diesel mechanic.
  • Best Answer:Most of my diesel techs drive service lorrys because it is not always practical, economical, or possible for the tractor to be brought in to the shop.
In the cold weather, the techs spend alot of time repairing 'No Starts'
This ranges from Frozen up diesels that should have been plugged in to broken fuel lines, frozen fuel lines, failed electrical parts. (repairs done on site, in the cold)

The techs must perform inspections of equipment, they must do maintenance work to the tractors, and they are expected to identify potential problems that can lead to equipment failure.
Back at the shop, the techs are overhauling engines, sleaving, refitting and replacing engines.
It is also not uncommon for a tech to be sent out to bleed a fuel system after the operator has run the unit dry.

Actually, re-reading this, I don't know if it will be help full.....I don't think there is such a thing as a TYPICAL day...lol
